From Tahiti: Tetiaroa Island Tour by Sailing Catamaran
About this experience

Start your day by meeting your guide at 5:45 AM at the Papeete Marina. Leave the dock at 6:00 AM as your delicious local breakfast awaits. Fill up on Viennese pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, or tea before the adventure starts. Enjoy a scenic 2-hour 30 crossing and begin to catch sight of the island ahead. Arrive shortly after and approach the island on a dinghy landing. Once disembarked, the hostess begins her 20 min guided walk to Bird's Island, where the history and legends of Tetiaroa will unveil their secrets to you. Enjoy free time to explore the island, take photos, swim, sunbathe, or take a siesta. Head back to the boat where lunch awaits you: raw fish with Tahitian-style coconut milk, hot rice, tuna marinated on the barbecue with fruit juices, water, and cold drinks. After lunch, you'll be provided with snorkeling equipment so you can swim along the reef and observe all the marine life. After swimming, return to the boat and depart for Tahiti. Before arriving, you'll be treated to a fruit salad and a glass of punch.

Questions guests ask before booking this tour

GetYourGuide lists the exact inclusions on the booking page — typically snorkel gear and life vests, drinks (often open bar), light food or lunch on the longer trips, and crew. Hotel pickup is sometimes included depending on the operator. Check the operator's inclusion list before booking; this comparison page surfaces the headline product, not every detail.

This tour starts at From $204 per person on GetYourGuide on our last refresh. Prices vary by date, season, and group size, and private-charter options are priced by the boat rather than per head. Click the Book button to see live pricing for your dates.

Most tours on GetYourGuide offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Look for the cancellation policy on the GetYourGuide tour page before booking — it's flagged prominently on the offer card.

May – October (dry season). Shoulder months (april, november (transition months)) are the best-value window — smaller crowds, lower prices, mostly the same conditions. Avoid november – april (wet season, fewer operators).

10 % cash; often included on premium charters. Cash to the captain at the end of the trip — they share with the deckhands. Service is sometimes included on private charters; check the booking confirmation.

Yes — Sunsail, The Moorings, Dream Yacht Charter all operate sailing catamaran charter fleets out of Raiatea and Tahiti. Bareboat requires ICC / RYA Day Skipper certification; skippered (with a captain) is more common. Typical week is $4,500–$10,000+ per boat for a Lagoon 42-50.

Strict reef-safe rules in French Polynesia marine parks (mineral-only). Pick up a mineral (zinc-oxide) sunscreen before you board; on-board sales are usually marked up.
